Meet your instructor, Kendra McCuine
I’m a therapeutic yoga teacher. I help people get out of pain, build strength and mobility, and connect with their bodies and minds to achieve lasting change. I would be honored to help you move better, feel better, and enjoy the freedom to do what you love.
My Story
I spent many years pushing my body, hard. I pushed through competitive volleyball, intense workouts, and chronic stress, believing that doing more would create better results. I prided myself on my intensity and tolerance for pain, ignoring my body’s subtle signals that I was doing too much. And then my body started to scream. I suffered a yoga-related injury that required hip surgery. I developed chronic back and shoulder pain. I was diagnosed with two autoimmune diseases. I could no longer do the things that brought me joy.
That’s when I found therapeutic yoga and movement. This helped me shift from thinking that pain and strain are necessary for progress (no pain, no gain, right?) to knowing that true change is smooth and slow. I progressed from a constant state of “fight or flight” to a baseline of calm groundedness and ease. I learned how to untangle the compensations that my body has developed over the years, rediscovering clean, efficient movement patterns that support, rather than deplete my energy. I found out how to listen to the subtle signals my body sends me so it doesn’t have to scream. I got out of pain- truly! And I got back to doing the things I love. My yoga practice, fitness routine, and life overall became less effortful and more easeful. I found myself stronger and calmer, with greater energy, flexibility, and resilience. And I can help you achieve this, too.
About Ease in Motion
Ease in Motion arose from my own personal transformation. I started Ease in Motion as a different kind of yoga and exercise studio. All-level yoga and fitness classes are fantastic, but sometimes you need more targeted practices to achieve your specific goals. I work with people individually and in my group classes to relieve chronic pain, restore balance, build strength, and move freely.
My private session series reduces or eliminates chronic pain through therapeutic yoga/movement and developing a deep understanding of your boy. Each of my group classes addresses a specific goal, from easing back pain, to building balance and stability, or developing joint mobility for lasting change.
I prioritize safety, proper form, and alignment in every session, enabling lasting progress while addressing compensation patterns that can creep up over time. My teaching is grounded in deep knowledge of how the body is meant to move. You do NOT need to be a seasoned yoga practitioner to get great results with me. In fact, you don’t need any yoga experience.
